Yahsat Reports Strong FY2021 Results Supported by Exceptional 4Q21 Performance
  • FY2021 revenue of AED 1.49 billion [USD 407.6 million], increased year-on-year driven by exceptional 4Q21 performance in which revenues grew 7.9% vs. prior year
  • Adjusted EBITDA1 of AED 883.2 million [USD 240.5 million] generating a healthy EBITDA margin of 59.0%; Normalised Adjusted EBITDA of AED 898.5 million [USD 244.6 million], up 5.0% vs. prior year, delivering a margin of 60%
  • Highest ever reported Net Income (profit attributable to the shareholders) of AED 256.2 million [USD 69.8 million]; Normalised Net Income of AED 297.3 million [USD 80.9 million], grew 47.4% vs. prior year, delivering a margin of 19.9% versus 13.5% in prior year
  • Contracted revenues of over AED 7.3 billion [over USD 2 billion], up more than 35% year-on year
  • Cash conversion of 97%1 and strong Discretionary Free Cash Flow1 of AED 659.2 million (USD 179.5 million), covering FY 2021 dividend by more than 1.7x

G42 and ICEYE Sign MOU to Collaborate and Develop Advanced SAR Products

The partnership builds on a recent agreement between G42 and Yahsat to develop geospatial analytics-as-a-service and data fusion of different sensor modalities.

Dubai, UAE, November 17, 2021 (ICEYE PR) – G42, the leading Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence and cloud computing company and ICEYE, a Finnish Synthetic-Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite and analytics provider, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on developing advanced SAR products.

The collaboration was formalized at a signing ceremony by Talal Al Kaissi, VP of the G42 Space Program and Jamil Kawar, Director of Global Sales at ICEYE, on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow.

Yahsat & Hughes Launch Joint Venture to Deliver Satellite Broadband Connectivity Across Africa, Middle East & Southwest Asia

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Dec. 16, 2018 (Hughes Network Systems PR) — Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), a leading global satellite operator based in the United Arab Emirates and wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), and Hughes Network Systems (HUGHES), a subsidiary of EchoStar Corporation (EchoStar) (NASDAQ: SATS), a premier global provider of satellite communication solutions, today announced the commencement of a joint venture to provide commercial satellite services across Africa, the Middle East and southwest Asia.

The agreement to form the joint venture was announced in September 2018, during the World Satellite Business Week Conference held in Paris, and was subject to regulatory and other approvals that have now been obtained. The newly formed company is bringing services to market as “YahClick, powered by Hughes,” and is now operational.

An Ariane 5 booster delivered two communications satellites into the wrong orbits on Thursday, but their owners say the spacecraft are healthy and will be able to reach their intended destinations using on-board propulsion.

Orbital ATK Teams Up With UAE to Offer Master’s Level Space Studies Program

orbital_atk_logoDULLES, Virg., 26 May 2015  (Orbital ATK PR) – Yahsat, the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology and Orbital ATK, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on May 25, 2015 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to announce the joint creation of the Gulf-region’s first Master’s level advanced studies space program, endorsed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

The MoU was signed in the presence of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The signing was also attended by key government officials and Chairmen of Yahsat, The UAE Space Agency and Masdar Institute.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Ahmed Belhoul, CEO of Masdar, Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of Yahsat and Tom Wilson, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, on behalf of David W. Thompson, President and CEO of Orbital ATK.
