Space BD to Provide the Smallsat Deployment From ISS for ArkEdgeSpace

TOKYO (Space BD PR) — Space BD Inc., the leading Japanese space startup providing access to space, announced that it would provide satellite deployment service from the International Space Station to ArkEdge Space for their satellite “NSPO-01.” NSPO-01 is an earth observation satellite developed by ArkEdge Space, the National Space Organization (NSPO) of Taiwan, and the University of Tokyo. It is the first mission for Space BD to work with NSPO.

ArkEdge Space (former company name: Space Edge Lab) is founded in 2018 as a spinout of Nakasuka-Funase Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, the Department of Aerospace Engineering. This time, ArkEdge Space awarded the contract by NSPO as co-researcher with Nakasuka laboratory to develop, launch, insert in orbit, and lead the initial operations of a 6U smallsatellite (100.0×226.3×366.0mm).

Space BD to Provide Sompo Japan Memento Item Service by Utilizing the ISS Kibo External Experience Platform

TOKYO (Space BD PR) — Space BD Inc., the leading Japanese space startup providing access to space, announced that they will provide the memento item service to Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. (Sompo Japan) and its campaign “SOMPO Park x Space Travel.

Space BD and Sompo Japan have discussed a new compensation service to expand the International Space Station (ISS) users by offering user-friendly options. The “SOMPO Park x Space Travel” campaign was born from the discussion between the two companies. While ISS has been mainly used for science-centered projects, this is the first project focusing on the entertainment uses done by service providers.

Space BD Selected as Sole Official Service Provider for Nanosatellite Deployment on First HTV-X Mission

TOKYO (Space BD PR) — Space BD Inc., the leading space startup in Japan that provides access to space using the International Space Station (ISS) Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” and rideshares on Japan’s flagship launch vehicle “H3”, announced that they were selected by Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) as an exclusive service provider for nanosatellite deployment from the first HTV-X, which is Japanese next-generation ISS resupply vehicle.

Space BD to Provide Smallsat Deployment Service From ISS to E+CRAFTMAN & Hokkaido University of Science

HOKKAIDO and TOKYO, Japan (Space BD PR) — Space BD Inc., the leading space startup in Japan that provides access to space using the International Space Station (ISS) Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” and rideshares on Japan’s flagship launch vehicle “H3”, announced that it will provide cubesat deployment service from the ISS for HMU-SAT1.

HMU-SAT1 is a nanosatellite developed by Space Development Research Club at the Hokkaido University of Science with support from E+CRAFTMAN Co. Ltd., a leading Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) company based in Sapporo, Hokkaido.

SATLANTIS Receives Images from Space BD’s iSIM Attached to International Space Station

TOKYO (Space BD PR) — Space BD Inc., the leading space startup in Japan that provides access to space using the International Space Station (ISS) Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” and rideshares on Japan’s flagship launch vehicle “H3”, announced that their customer, SATLANTIS MICROSAT S.L. successfully received about 20,000 images from the Integrated Standard Imager for Microsatellites (iSIM) on IVA-Replaceable Small Exposed Experiment Platform (i-SEEP), the external platform attached outside of Kibo since June 2020.

Space BD, Space Basil Sign MOU on Business Alliance Agreement for Kibo Access

TOKYO (Space BD PR) — Space BD Inc., one of the leading Japanese space startups who provides access to space using ISS Japanese module Kibo as well as piggyback capacity of its flagship launch vehicle “H3”, and Space Basil, Japanese first Space advertisement company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Business Alliance Agreement on March 24, 2020.

With this MoU, Space BD will provide various means of access to space such as the external platform of ISS Kibo to support Space Basil to start their space advertisement and entertainment services.
