Spire Global and SNC Announce Strategic Partnership on Space Services Program

VIENNA, Va. (Spire Global PR) – Spire Global, Inc. (NYSE: SPIR), a leading provider of space-based data, analytics, and space services, today announced a partnership with Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) on a space services program to address a growing market need for radio frequency (RF) collection and analysis. Spire’s cluster of four 6U satellites will enhance SNC technology that detects and geolocates certain objects based on targeted RF emissions. The program will provide valuable insight into how military and government organizations can better manage RF emissions and safeguard against RF and GPS interference.

Sierra Space Provides Integration Services for New Nuclear Propulsion System as Part of DARPA’s DRACO Program

LOUISVILLE, Colo., June 24, 2021 (Sierra Space PR) – Sierra Space, the new commercial space subsidiary of global aerospace and national security leader Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), will supply the propulsion components and integration services for a Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP) system under a recent contract with General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS). GA-EMS and Sierra Space will develop and demonstrate an on-orbit NTP system for a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) program called Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operations (DRACO).

Crewed Dream Chaser® Spaceplane to Shuttle Private Astronauts

SPARKS, Nev., March 31, 2021 (Sierra Nevada Corporation PR) – Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security company owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, outlined development plans for its low-Earth orbit (LEO) space station – leveraging its transportation and destination technologies – releasing new images, details and video of the unique concept in support of LEO commercialization.

The space station is a configuration of multiple large inflatable LIFE  habitats that can be serviced by both cargo and crew carrying Dream Chaser spaceplanes.

Sierra Nevada Wins NASA Contract to Power Water-Seeking VIPER Lunar Rover
NASA’s Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover, or VIPER, is a mobile robot that will roam around the Moon’s south pole looking for water ice. The VIPER mission will give us surface-level detail of where the water is and how much is available for us to use. Sierra Nevada Advances Inflatable LIFE Habitat Development for NASA

SPARKS, Nev., August 10, 2020 (Sierra Nevada PR) — Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security company owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, is continuing to advance its development of the company’s LIFE™ Habitat (Large Inflatable Fabric Environment) under Phase 3 of NASA’s Next Space Technologies for Exploration Partnerships (NextSTEP-2) Appendix A habitat program.

In Phase 3, NASA has asked companies to focus on habitat design concepts that could be used on the lunar surface or as a Mars transportation habitat to test at the Gateway.

Sierra Nevada Unveils Two New Satellite Platforms

SNC Platforms Offer Increased Capacity and Range, Maximizing Versatility

SPARKS, Nev. (August 06, 2020)  Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security company owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, added two new satellite platforms to its spacecraft offerings, the SN-200M satellite bus designed for medium-Earth orbit (MEO) and the SN-1000, offering increased payload capacity for MEO and other orbits.

The SN-200M variant specifically adapts SNC’s standard SN-200 bus for the MEO radiation environment. The SN-1000 is a demonstration platform based on the SN-200M bus flying an Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) Secondary Payload Adapter (ESPA).  Both satellites build on the flight heritage gained from the Air Force Demonstration and Science Experiment (DSX) program. Last June, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) launched DSX into MEO and it has been operating successfully on-orbit for the past year.

SPARKS, Nev. (June 12, 2020) – Eren and Fatih Ozmen, owners of the global aerospace and national security leader Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), were honored this week with the prestigious Eisenhower Award for their lifetime contributions to U.S. national security.

Many of the nation’s pre-eminent current and retired military leaders also attended the virtual celebration. The semiannual Eisenhower Award, presented by Business Executives for National Security (BENS), recognizes extraordinary Americans who embody the values and principles of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and his holistic definition of national security, which he described as “…the total product of our economic, intellectual, moral and military strength.”

SNC’s “Shooting Star” Arrives at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center

SPARKS, Nev., November 19, 2019 (SNC PR) – Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security leader owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, delivered a test version of its Shooting Star cargo module to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center for testing ahead of its planned launch with SNC’s Dream Chaser® spacecraft in 2021.

Shooting Star is a 15-foot attachment to Dream Chaser that will be used on NASA’s Commercial Resupply Services 2 (CRS-2) contract to provide extra storage for payloads and to facilitate cargo disposal upon re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere.

SPARKS, Nev., October 15, 2019 (SNC PR)) – Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC), the global aerospace and national security leader owned by Chairwoman and President Eren Ozmen and CEO Fatih Ozmen, announces the arrival of the primary vehicle structure to the company’s Colorado production facility, kicking off full assembly of the Dream  Chaser®  spacecraft ahead of its first mission for NASA in 2021.  The structure is the largest piece of technology to make up Dream Chaser and the most advanced high-temperature composite spaceframe ever built.
