BERN, Switzerland (RUAG Space PR) — Using its rich heritage of designing and building satellite dispensers, RUAG Space developed a unique satellite Dispenser that enables three large radar Earth observation satellites to simultaneously launch on a single launcher.

The Dispenser system connected the spacecraft to the launcher and ensured safe separation in orbit using a first-of-its-kind tilting mechanism. RUAG Space delivered the tilting Dispenser System to MDA, a Maxar company, to support the Canadian Space Agency’s RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM), which launched Wednesday, June 12 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, USA.

The draft environmental assessment for SpaceX’s proposed expansion at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) also revealed that Elon Musk’s rocket company plans to most of more than 4,000 satellites of its planned Starlink constellation from Cape Canaveral.

That will guarantee a busy schedule for SpaceX’s Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at KSC and LC-40 at the adjoining Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS). LC-39A can accommodate Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy boosters while LC-40 is configured for the Falcon 9.

DENVER (York Space Systems PR) — York Space Systems, an aerospace company specializing in complete space segment customer solutions and the manufacture of standardized spacecraft platforms, today announced a partnership with RUAG Space, a leading product supplier for satellites and launchers, to become York’s sole supplier of separation systems for the S-CLASS spacecraft platform. As part of the collaboration, RUAG will develop a customized separation system for York’s first mission, the Harbinger Mission, which will be launched later this year.

The partnership, unveiled at the 34^th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colo., will further enable York to offer commercial companies a turn-key solution for rapid and affordable complete space collection deployment solutions. This new agreement with RUAG to become York’s preferred spacecraft separation system, further demonstrates the additional value gained by end customers through its growing network of partners across the segment.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. DECATUR, Ala. (RUAG Space PR) — RUAG Space, a leading product supplier to the space industry, held a celebratory reception in its new Decatur, Alabama facility to showcase the progress towards full production capabilities.

Led by RUAG Group CEO Urs Breitmeier, the RUAG team welcomed close to 200 community leaders, members of the space industry, media and various other supporters to the event. The facility – stretching over 130,000 square foot and collocating with one of its major customers United Launch Alliance – is designed to manufacture and assemble composite structures for launch vehicles. First machinery and equipment, such as the Final Integration Station for Interstage Adapters, are already in place.

BERN, Switzerland (RUAG Space PR) — RUAG Space will supply the structures for the OneWeb satellite constellation. A contract between OneWeb Satellites, the company responsible for constructing the OneWeb satellites, and RUAG Space has been signed that anticipates delivery of structures for 900 satellites by the end of 2020.

OneWeb is revolutionizing global connectivity and by far the largest satellite constellation ever. In just a few years’ time, about 900 satellites will be manufactured to be launched into low Earth orbit at an altitude of around 1,200 kilometres. These will offer broadband internet with up to 50 Mbps around the globe.

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla., November 29, 2016 (Florida Space Coast EDC PR) – Today, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) announced RUAG’s selection of Brevard County for its RUAG Space USA Inc. production facility in Titusville. RUAG Space USA Inc., a supplier of spacecraft structural and thermal equipment, will operate at the Port Canaveral Titusville Logistic Center.

“The aerospace industry is undergoing a disruptive transformation,” explains Peter Guggenbach, CEO of RUAG Space USA Inc. “In what’s known as the new space segment, innovative start-ups and private investors are developing new commercial business models for aerospace applications. We want to be a competitive player in this segment too. The current order from Airbus OneWeb Satellites proves that we’re on the right path,” he says.

EVRY, France (Arianespace PR) – Arianespace announced today that it has signed a contract with the global satellite internet company OneWeb to design, qualify and supply 21 payload dispensers for the deployment of the OneWeb constellation, along with five more on option.

CENTENNIAL, Colo., March 24, 2016 (ULA PR) – United Launch Alliance (ULA) successfully completed the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) for the Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle with dual Blue Origin BE-4 engines. The PDR, a major milestone in development of the Vulcan launch vehicle, confirms that the design meets the requirements for the diverse set of missions it will support. The ULA team will build upon this milestone to refine and test key elements of the design while executing a busy manifest of 14 launches in 2016.
