Space Florida is teaming up with the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze to create a “first-of-its-kind Personal Spaceflight Medical and Training Program for commercial space tourists.”
Officials are set to announce details of the new program at a news conference on Thursday. “A formal study will also be released that was conducted by the University of West Florida’s Haas Center for Business Research. The study discusses the growing need for a domestic spaceflight training program for commercial human space flight participants,” according to a Space Florida press release.
