ZERO-G Completes Microgravity Research Flight

Arlington, Virginia, November 27, 2013 (ZERO-G PR) -– Zero Gravity Corporation® (ZERO-G®) has successfully completed the latest ZERO-G® Weightless Lab microgravity research flight.  On November 17, ZERO-G clients tested equipment for future suborbital missions, studied the geology of Mars, deployed cubesats, evaluated fluid dynamics and analyzed customized devices for consuming liquids in space.

“ZERO-G’s research program gives universities, corporations, government and individuals seeking to conduct serious investigations unprecedented access to microgravity,” stated Terese Brewster, President and COO of ZERO-G.  “Now in our fourth year, ZERO’s Weightless Lab continues to provide an international clientele with Martian, Lunar, zero and hyper-gravity environments for the study of terrestrial and space applications.”

Virgin Galactic Customers Enjoy Early Taste of Microgravity

As part of its gathering of future spaceflight participants in Mojave on Sept. 25, Virgin Galactic also scheduled a series of space-related events and activities throughout the week for those coming in from the four corners of the globe. These included an after party at the Endeavour exhibit in Los Angeles, centrifuge training at NASTAR in Pennsylvania, tours of the Mount Wilson Observatory and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and microgravity parabolic rides aboard Zero Gravity Corporation’s G-FORCE ONE (above).

ESA Completes Second Fly Your Thesis Round

ESA PR — The second series of flights in ESA’s ‘Fly Your Thesis!’ programme concluded recently. After many months of preparation, the 10-day campaign culminated with four student experiments making three parabolic flights aboard the Airbus A300 Zero-G aircraft.

Four student teams, from the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands, were selected for this rare opportunity to conduct their own experiments during ESA’s 54th Parabolic Flight Campaign.

NASA Selects First Payloads For Upcoming Reduced-Gravity Flights

NASA PR — WASHINGTON — NASA has selected 16 payloads for flights on the commercial Zero-G parabolic aircraft and two suborbital reusable launch vehicles as part of the agency’s Flight Opportunities Program. The flights provide opportunities for space technologies to be demonstrated and validated in relevant environments. In addition, these flights foster the development of the nation’s commercial reusable suborbital transportation industry.

Northrop Grumman Foundation Accepting Apps for Teacher Weightless Flights

Astronauts4Hire Complete Space Beer Test in Micro-G

A4H PR – Orlando, Florida – Astronauts4Hire has completed its inaugural paid contract to test the world’s first beer designed for consumption in space. The experiment, which marks humanity’s first formal study on alcohol absorption in microgravity, took place aboard a parabolic trajectory microgravity flight out of Cape Canaveral, Florida operated by Zero Gravity Corporation (ZERO-G). Yesterday’s flight was the first in a series of microgravity flights qualifying the beer recipe for consumption in space, funded in part by sales of the beverage on Earth.
