SpaceX Launches 40 Satellites into Space

CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION, Fla., April 1, 2022 — A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 40 payloads as part of the company’s Transporter-4 dedicated smallsat rideshare mission.

The rocket launched into a sun-synchronous orbit at 12:24 p.m. EDT. The mission manifest included the first satellite orbited by Pixxel of India, Kleos Space’s Patrol Mission, and 12 Spacebee communications satellites. A list of payloads is below.

OHB, LuxSpace and OQ Technology Sign MOU to Explore Collaboration for IoT Services

LUXEMBOURG, 18 Jan 2022 (OHB SE PR) – OHB SE (OHB), one of Europe’s leading space companies, its subsidiary LuxSpace, a provider of space systems, applications and services, and OQ Technology (OQ), a global satellite operator, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore opportunities in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) service sector.

The cooperation between LuxSpace, OHB and OQ will include satellite-based IoT upstream and downstream activities to enhance the portfolio of services available to customers in different markets, including, but not limited to, energy, agriculture, defence and the green economy.

OQ Technology to Add Another ‘Cell Tower in Space’ to its 5G IoT Constellation

LUXEMBOURG, 17 November 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – 5G IoT satellite operator OQ Technology has announced the upcoming launch of its second ‘cell tower in space’. Ramping up its global satellite constellation for 5G IoT applications, OQ Technology’s latest mission, ‘Tiger-3’, follows the successful launch and tests of its Tiger-2 satellite in June this year.  The satellite will be launched in 2022.

NanoAvionics to Launch 5th Satellite Rideshare Mission with New MP42 Bus Aboard SpaceX Transporter-4

The MP42 microsat will carry payloads from OQ Technology and Veoware into low Earth orbit

BREMEN, Germany, 17 November 2021 (NanoAvionics PR) – Smallsat integrator NanoAvionics has announced its latest satellite rideshare mission “MP42” to be launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 with payloads from OQ Technology and Veoware. Using the prototype of its new MP42 microsatellite bus, it is the fifth shared satellite mission by NanoAvionics, which has been one of the firsts companies in the nanosatellite industry to successfully kickstart and continue such a commercial programme. The launch of NanoAvionics’ satellite has been booked for the SpaceX Transporter-4 mission, planned for 2022.

OQ Technology Successfully Proofs Indoor Tracking Inside a Moving Car via its 5G IoT Nanosatellite

Company completes in orbit commissioning and will begin customer use case demonstration

Luxembourg, 25 October 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – 5G satellite operator OQ Technology has successfully completed the in orbit commissioning (IOC) of its Tiger-2 nanosatellite, and is ready to commence customer demonstrations. The company is already in talks with several potential customers interested in using the company’s satellite-based 5G IoT services and will start commercial services for “latency-tolerant” low-power devices this beginning next year.

“Completing the IOC phase and the successful tests with our terminals in remote locations was a crucial step to start generating revenue via the satellite and progress the constellation with more satellites to be launched in early 2022,” said Omar Qaise, founder and CEO of OQ Technology. “In addition to potential customers, we are also negotiating with cellular chip partners to scale up the satellite access capability to existing cellular IoT chips globally. Our next step is starting service demonstrations with our potential customers and their use cases.”

OQ Technology, GovSat Sign MOU to Collaborate on IoT Products for Defence and Government Sectors

LUXEMBOURG, 29 September 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – OQ Technology, a Luxembourg-based satellite 5G IoT company, and GovSat, a public-private joint venture between the Luxembourg government and satellite operator SES, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on developing and testing satellite-based IoT (Internet of things) and machine-to-machine (M2M) products aimed at defence and government sectors.

By combining OQ Technology’s 5G products and services with GovSat’s end-to-end satcom solutions, already supporting customers such as NATO, the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Belgium Navy, the companies aim to offer highly scalable applications for air, land and maritime missions across the world. Customers of these future applications will benefit from access to real-time 5G IoT coverage, dedicated geostationary (GEO) capabilities, specialized frequencies and licenses, and a wider footprint of multiple beams.

OQ Technology Reveals Patent Portfolio in the US and Europe to Improve Satellite Communications

LUXEMBOURG, 21 September 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – 5G satellite operator OQ Technology has revealed six pending patent applications in the USA and in Europe that will improve satellite-based IoT and M2M communications in remote locations. OQ Technology’s patent applications include a “wake-up” technology for satellite IoT (Internet of things) devices, IoT device localisation, frequency and timing synchronisation, inter-satellite link technology and satellite system design.

The various technologies within these applications allow customers of the Luxembourg company to receive better quality of service, save power and exchange data easier and more efficiently. They will be implemented onboard its planned satellite constellation in low Earth orbit (LEO). The first commercial IoT satellite of that constellation, OQ’s satellite Tiger-2, which was launched in June, performed well during the launch and early orbit phase (LEOP), and is now reaching the final stages of the payload commissioning phase.

OQ Technology Secures 5G Test Spectrum License, Establishes First European 5G Test Center for LEO satellites

LUXEMBOURG, July 7, 2021 (OQ Technology PR) – OQ Technology has been granted and experimental license for accessing critical satellite 5G frequencies by the Luxembourg Ministry of Media and Communication. The Luxembourg company also announced that it has established the first European 5G Satellite Test Centre (STC) for LEO (low Earth orbit) satellites. Both advancements, together with the successful launch of it’s first commercial 5G IoT satellite last week, are aimed at speeding up the company’s product development and global expansion.

With the 5G license, issued by the Luxembourg regulatory authority (ILR) in June, OQ Technology will be able to accelerate its service provisions for the Internet of things (IoT), including smart cars, drones, transport, logistics and maritime. especially in remote regions.  The license allows the company to test and improve its commercial product portfolio of 5G IoT user devices. OQ Technology will also be able to optimise its cell-tower 5G software stack aboard its satellites.

NanoAvionics Adds Two Nanosatellites to SpaceX Transporter-2 Mission

COLUMBIA, Ill., June 24, 2021 (NanoAvionics PR) – NanoAvionics is gearing up for the SpaceX Transporter-2 rideshare launch at the end of June, with several satellite missions from its customers, promising to have a positive impact on businesses and communities in remote regions on Earth, as well as pioneering an ionic liquid electrospray propulsion system.
