Momentus Announces Service Agreement for Hosted Payload with LuxSpace

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Momentus Inc. PR) — Momentus Inc. (NASDAQ: MNTS) (“Momentus” or the “Company”), a U.S. commercial space company that plans to offer transportation and other in-space infrastructure services, today announced a service agreement with LuxSpace.

LuxSpace, a Luxembourg-based subsidiary of German headquartered satellite manufacturer OHB, will fly its Triton-X small satellite platform aboard a Vigoride Orbital Transfer Vehicle in 2023. The mission will be an in-orbit demonstration of key Triton-X subsystems and other technologies.

OHB, LuxSpace and OQ Technology Sign MOU to Explore Collaboration for IoT Services

LUXEMBOURG, 18 Jan 2022 (OHB SE PR) – OHB SE (OHB), one of Europe’s leading space companies, its subsidiary LuxSpace, a provider of space systems, applications and services, and OQ Technology (OQ), a global satellite operator, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore opportunities in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) service sector.

The cooperation between LuxSpace, OHB and OQ will include satellite-based IoT upstream and downstream activities to enhance the portfolio of services available to customers in different markets, including, but not limited to, energy, agriculture, defence and the green economy.

Rocket Factory Augsburg Signs Further Launch Contracts

AUGSBURG, Germany (RFA PR) – OHB Cosmos International Launch Services GmbH, a company of OHB SE’s newly established business segment OHB DIGITAL, as well as LuxSpace, the group’s Luxembourg-based satellite manufacturer, both signed a contract for a dedicated launch with German-based launch service provider, Rocket Factory Augsburg AG (RFA), for upcoming missions scheduled for mid-2024 and 2025.

What’s On Board Vega Booster

The European Vega rocket that launched this evening was carrying 53 satellites on its first rideshare mission as part of the Small Spacecraft Mission Service Proof of Concept Flight.

The payloads included 14 Flock 4V Earth imaging satellites from Planet, 12 SpaceBEE Internet of Things spacecraft from Swarm Technologies, and 8 maritime monitoring satellites from Spire.

ESAIL Maritime Satellite Ready for Launch

KOUROU, French Guiana (ESA PR) — The ESAIL microsatellite for tracking ships worldwide – developed under an ESA Partnership Project – has completed its accommodation on Vega’s new dispenser for small satellites and is ready for launch. 

The Vega launch campaign at Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, resumed three weeks ago, following an interruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

As CEO of LuxSpace, how do you feel in the weeks leading up to the launch of your ESAIL satellite?

I think we are all extremely happy that the project is finally coming to fruition, but we are also a bit nervous about the launch.

It’s an exceptional moment because ‘things’ can happen during a launch. Five years work can succeed or fail in a single moment.

Canada’s exactEarth Signs Launch Service Agreement with Arianespace.
PARIS (ESA PR) — The first commercial microsatellite developed under ESA’s SAT‐AIS programme for tracking ships, called ESAIL, has passed another milestone. On 9 May its Canadian operator exactEarth signed the launch service agreement with Arianespace.ESAIL is part of ESA’s Partnership Projects and has been developed to enhance the next generation of space‐based services for the maritime sector. The spacecraft will track ship movements over the entire globe as it orbits the planet.

Satellite coverage is essential as about 90% of global trade takes place on the oceans. It opens the door to enhanced safety, tracking ships and route provisions for industry, government and maritime authorities.

LuxSpace Entering Next Phase with Triton-X Microsat

Betzdorf, Luxembourg, January 9, 2019 (OHB PR) — LuxSpace, a subsidiary of the space and technology group OHB SE, is taking its Triton-X microsatellite platform to the next level. Over the last 12 months it has been designing the architecture for Triton-X, a next generation multi-mission microsatellite designed to enable affordable regional and global LEO constellations. Now work on the hardware is beginning in conjunction with three partner companies.

China Launches Lunar Sample Return Precursor Mission

China has launched a spacecraft to the moon designed to pave the way for a future lunar sample return mission.
