TOKYO, March 23, 2021 (Astroscale PR) – Astroscale Holdings Inc. (“Astroscale”), the market leader in satellite servicing and long-term orbital sustainability across all orbits, confirmed the successful launch of its End-of-Life Services by Astroscale demonstration (ELSA-d) mission. This marks the start of the world’s first commercial mission to prove the core technologies necessary for space debris docking and removal. ELSA-d, which consists of two satellites stacked together — a servicer designed to safely remove debris from orbit and a client satellite that serves as a piece of replica debris — was launched by GK Launch Services into a 550 km orbit on a Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Monday, March 22, at 6:07 am (UTC).

MOSCOW (Roscosmos PR) — GK Launch Services, an operator of Soyuz-2 commercial launches and RUAG Space, a leading independent space product supplier, have signed a Long-term Purchase Agreement for Payload Adapters and Separation systems for the Soyuz-2 launchers.
RUAG Space will supply Payload Adapters and Separation systems for the Soyuz-2 family of launchers. The new purchase agreement between GK Launch Services, an operator of Soyuz-2 commercial launches and RUAG Space a leading independent space product supplier, has been signed on March 11. This long-term contract is for multiple launches using a RUAG Space separation system and payload adapter. The products are produced in the RUAG Space facility in Linköping, Sweden.

TORONTO, Canada, October 7, 2019 (Kepler Communications PR) – Kepler Communications signs launch agreement with Innovative Space Logistics B.V (ISL) working with GK Launch Services to deploy two satellites into sun-synchronous orbit in Q2-Q3 2020. The satellites will be the first of multiple batches of the next-generation platform, forming part of Kepler’s Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation for global data services.
Kepler’s next generation of satellites will incorporate both a high-capacity Ku-band communications system and a narrowband payload, for both high-speed data transfers and low-power direct-to-satellite IoT connectivity.

MOSCOW (Roscosmos PR) — Four Korean Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) 6U Cubesats will be launched on Soyuz-2.1a as part of the rideshare mission scheduled for the Q1-Q2, 2021 in two 12U deployers from the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
A new and very challenging space mission was initiated by KASI since 2017. KASI designed the innovative concept of multi-satellites mission, named as the Small scale magNetospheric and Ionospheric Plasma Experiments (SNIPE).

(more…)MOSCOW (Roscosmos PR) — The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), a Russia’s sovereign wealth fund, in partnership with Middle East investors, GK Launch Services company and with the support of Roscosmos State Corporation, announces an investment of $87 million in upgrading the infrastructure of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The relevant documents have been signed today at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The project intends to upgrade Launch Site 1 (Gagarin’s Start) of the Cosmodrome with its following operation for Soyuz-2 rocket launches.
