With US expansion, Satellogic joins United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation, Intelligence and National Security Alliance, SmallSat Alliance, and Open Geospatial Consortium

Through its partnership with USGIF and INSA, Satellogic will help promote the application of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) towards national security challenges, as well as advance intelligence and national security priorities. These organizational goals align with Satellogic’s long-term mission of providing the public sector with geospatial insights that enable decision makers to improve or protect their environments, including border, resource and infrastructure monitoring.
BlackSky Holdings, Inc., a leading real-time geospatial intelligence, imagery, and data analytics company has entered into a business combination agreement with Osprey Technology Acquisition Corp. (NYSE:SFTW); the newly combined company is expected to be listed on the NYSE under the new ticker symbol “BKSY.”
The business combination agreement is expected to provide approximately $450 million of net proceeds to the combined company, assuming no redemptions, to fund expected future growth, including a fully committed $180 million common stock PIPE with participation from leading institutional investors including Tiger Global Management, Mithril Capital (co-founded by Ajay Royan and Peter Thiel), Hedosophia, and Senator Investment Group. Additionally, Osprey’s sponsor and its affiliates are investing over $20 million in the PIPE.
Pro forma equity value of the merger is expected to be nearly $1.5 billion at the $10.00 per share PIPE price.

Rocket Lab’s Electron booster successfully launched the “Make it Rain” rideshare mission for Seattle-based Spaceflight from New Zealand’s Mahia Peninsula on Saturday.
The mission lofted seven satellites, including: BlackSky’s Global-3 imaging microsat; two U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Prometheus reconnaissance CubeSats; two Swarm SpaceBEE satellites; Melbourne Space Program’s ACRUX-1 CubeSat; and one spacecraft from an undisclosed customer. The payloads weighed 80 kg (176.4 lb).
The BlackSky Global-3 imaging satellite was developed, designed and manufactured by BlackSky of the United States. The company is a provider of geospatial intelligence, satellite imaging and global monitoring services.
It was the sixth successful Electron launch in a row out of seven attempts and the third flight of 2019. Rocket Lab has now orbited 35 satellites on its six successful missions.
The mission’s name was drawn from the high volume of rainfall in Seattle where Spaceflight is headquartered and at the Mahia Peninsula where Electron from which Electron is launched.
LUXEMBOURG, 2 April 2019 (Kleos Space PR) — Kleos Space S.A (ASX: KSS, Frankfurt: KS1), space-powered Radio Frequency Reconnaissance data provider, has signed a collaborative, non-binding, Memorandum of Understanding with leading Israeli based end-to-end geospatial intelligence company ImageSat International N.V. (iSi) to explore opportunities to use Kleos’ maritime RF activity-based satellite data to enhance geospatial intelligence analytics.
Under the MoU, the companies will develop a value-add proposition for current and future iSi maritime customers using Kleos’ geolocation data. The MoU also covers the development of a methodology to reduce collection to dissemination latency.
