TORONTO (CSCA PR) — The Canadian Space Commerce Association (CSCA) is calling for an increase in funds to Canada’s space program, and that the government follow through with the commitment it made during the election to work with stakeholders on a Long Term Space Plan. The 2016 Canadian budget needs to recognize Canada’s space program as a national priority, a driver for innovation, and an avenue for creating jobs.
TORONTO – The Canadian Space Commerce Association (CSCA) is pleased to welcome the addition of five new corporate members.
Joining the CSCA as new corporate members are; Euroconsult Canada, Western University’s Centre for Planetary Science and Exploration (CPSX), MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA), Space Strategies Consulting Ltd. (SSCL) and the Institute for Space Science, Exploration and Technology at the University of Alberta.
TORONTO (CSCA PR) — Two days after the election was called the Canadian Space Commerce Association (CSCA) called on all parties to commit to developing an open and public long-term space plan to be published by the end of 2016.
We are happy to report that our efforts to reach out to the main parties worked and that the Liberals and NDP have both committed to developing a long-term space plan with stakeholders.
TORONTO (CSCA PR) — On May 25th the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance announced that it would hold its pre-budget consultations from June 5 to August 7, 2015. However when the election was called on August 2nd the committee could no longer accept submissions. After the election it will be up to a new Standing Committee on Finance to determine the next course of action.
