Conrad Foundation Launches Brain Trust

conrad_foundationHOUSTON, Jan. 28, 2014 (Conrad Foundation PR) – As part of the Conrad Foundation’s ongoing commitment to developing the conscientious  leaders of tomorrow, the international not-for-profit launched its latest initiative, Brain Trust. The program was established to provide motivated young innovators with the opportunity to further develop products and services created as part of the Foundation’s Spirit of Innovation Challenge.

Services provided to Brain Trust participants include assistance with intellectual property protection, consultations with business and technical experts, and access to grants and other funding opportunities. Teams also are eligible for exclusive speaking and networking opportunities offered by the Conrad Foundation and its partners. Funding for the Brain Trust grants and services was made possible through a 2013 Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign which raised more than $40,000 to launch the new program.

Conrad Foundation, NanoRacks to Launch Student Experiments with AmEx Points System

HOUSTON (Conrad Foundation PR)— Nancy Conrad, founder and chairman of the Conrad Foundation, has announced the Foundation has joined forces with NanoRacks LLC, the leading company for low-earth orbit utilization, to launch a new program called DreamUp. The program will assist students in funding an out-of-this-world educational experience – conducting experiments in space. DreamUp is the first program to enable students to use American Express® Membership Rewards® points to fund student experiments onboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Conrad Foundation, ManSat to Expand Spirit of Innovation Awards Globally

CONRAD FOUNDATION PRESS RELEASE

Officials with The Conrad Foundation today announced ManSat Limited, a global commercial space corporation headquartered on the Isle of Man , has joined with the Conrad Foundation to expand the 2010-2011 Spirit of Innovation Awards program on the international stage.

ManSat will sponsor a national competition on the Isle of Man from which one finalist team will participate in the annual awards competition, which gives high school students the opportunity to design, develop and commercialize innovative products that help solve challenges of the 21st century. Working in closely with Island’s Department of Education and Children, ManSat employees will mentor the student teams from the Island five high schools as they prepare their award entries. The winning team will travel to the Innovation Summit, where the finalists will be showcased and winners will be announced. The Summit will take place at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. in April 2011.

Conrad Foundation Newest Partner: AIAA

Officials with The Conrad Foundation today announced the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is the newest partner to support the Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Awards.

The contest challenges teams of high school students to create innovative products for use in various fields of science and technology, including lunar exploration, personal spaceflight and renewable energy.

Ames to Host Innovation Summit with Conrad Foundation

On April 2-4, 2009, the Conrad Foundation will host its Innovation Summit in partnership with NASA Ames Research Laboratory. During the course of this three day event students, educators, and entrepreneurs will participate in a series of presentations, workshops, and judging for the Pete Conrad Spirit of Innovation Awards.

Finalists in the competition from across the country will present their innovative products in the three challenge categories: personal spaceflight, lunar exploration, and renewable energy. Members of the public will be able to help select the most innovative teams by attending their presentations, viewing the student trade show, and voting for their favorite products.

NSS, Conrad Foundation Team Up for Innovation Award
