Struggling launch and propulsion provider Astra Space (Nasdaq: ASTR) reported zero revenue and a $44.9 million net loss for the first quarter on Monday amid dwindling reserves of cash and securities and “substantial doubt” about the company’s survival.

Astra Space (NAS: ASTR) will provide five Spacecraft Propulsion Kits for Apex Technology’s Aries satellite bus platform beginning later this year.

Virgin Orbit’s bankruptcy could have fallout across the space industry. The company estimates it owes $100-500 million to somewhere between “200-999” creditors. The amount includes debts in excess of $15.3 million to four companies — Arqit, BigBear.ai, Redwire, and Spire Global — on the Space SPAC Index.

Astra Space (NAS: ASTR) suffered a net loss of nearly $411.4 million on revenue of $29.5 million last year as the company stopped development of its Rocket 3.3 launch vehicle and spun up production of a spacecraft engine for sale to other companies. The company had no revenue in the fourth quarter.
