Augustine Panel to Hold First Public Meeting

Soyuz, Vega Launches from Kourou Delayed Unitl 2010

Delays seen for Soyuz, Vega launches at Europe’s space base

The first launches by the veteran Russian rocket Soyuz and a new light rocket called Vega from Europe’s space base will be postponed to 2010, the European Space Agency (ESA) said on Monday.

They had been scheduled to take place by the end of the year.

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum today announced an interactive new website to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing and President Kennedy’s grand vision that made that achievement possible.

WeChooseTheMoon.org will go live at 9:32 a.m. on July 16th, 2009 – exactly 40 years to the minute after the historic launch. The site, powered by AOL, will recreate Apollo 11’s lunar mission, minute by minute, with an interactive experience that lets visitors experience the mission as it happened, using archival audio, video, photos and “real time” transmissions.

CSF Elects Sierra Nevada’s Sirangelo as New Chairman

Paragon SDC Working on Constellation Spacesuit

Former U.S. Ambassador Training as Backup for Space Tourism Flight

Today, Space Adventures, Ltd., the only company that provides human space missions to the world marketplace, announced that Barbara Barrett is currently training as the back-up crew member alongside orbital spaceflight candidate Guy Laliberte, who is preparing for the Soyuz TMA-16 flight to the International Space Station (ISS).
