Hughes ground system to enable 100 Gbps on the Nusantara Lima satellite to help bridge the digital divide

GERMANTOWN, Md. Eleven JUPITER gateways will power 100 Gbps of capacity across Indonesia and nearby countries to bring internet access to people living outside the reach of terrestrial broadband.

NASA’s SpaceX Crew-3 Astronauts to Discuss Mission, Splashdown

WASHINGTON (NASA PR) — As they prepare to return to Earth later this month, NASA’s SpaceX Crew-3 astronauts will answer media questions about their time aboard the International Space Station during an in-orbit news conference at 1:20 p.m. EDT Friday, April 15.

NASA astronauts Raja ChariTom Marshburn, and Kayla Barron, as well as ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Matthias Maurer, will participate in the news conference. The event will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.

Non-proprietary standard supports mission augmentation like Lockheed Martin’s ASPI

LITTLETON, Colo., April 4, 2022 (Lockheed Martin PR) – Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has released an open-source, non-proprietary interface standard to support on-orbit docking within the industry.

With unity of effort in mind, Lockheed Martin has published this Mission Augmentation Port (MAP) interface standard online to support industry approaches to on-orbit servicing and mission augmentation. For the last ten years, Planet has raised concerns about the impact destructive anti-satellite weapons (ASATs) have on a healthy space ecosystem. ASATs threaten operations in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), jeopardize astronauts’ safety, and risk destroying satellites that provide critical services to humanity. They are irresponsible. Today, we want to shed light on this important issue and urge the United States Government to lead an international effort to prohibit the use of debris-creating anti-satellite weapons (ASATs).

HKATG Forms Strategic Partnership for Golden Bauhinia Satellite Constellation

HONG KONG (Hong Kong Aerospace Technology Group PR) — Hong Kong Aerospace Technology Group Limited (HKATG; 01725. HK) announced its strategic cooperation with the Company and Shandong Institute of Industrial Technology for the construction and operation of the first high-resolution agricultural satellite constellation (”Golden Bauhinia — Qilu Satellite Constellation”) on 4 April.  It is known that the first phase of the project comprising 9 satellites and the first experiment satellite is expected to be launched in July 2022, and the remaining eight operational satellites with 8-band multi-spectral observation capability will be launched in December 2022.

After the news came out, a huge amount of smart money poured into HKATG, its stock soared for 4 consecutive days between 4 April and 8 April. HKATG recorded a four-day gaining streak from its latest low of HK$12.2, in addition to crossing above 10-day and 20-day exponential moving average (EMA), the stock, a new high in three months was made during intraday trading on 8 April. HKATG surged by more than 100% in a few days, and the trading volume moved against the market which up to nearly 800,000 shares, with a capital of HKD 16.83 million involved and an amazing momentum.

Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Advanced Scramjet Engine Powers Successful Hypersonic Vehicle Flight

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 06, 2022 (Aerojet Rocketdyne PR) — An advanced Aerojet Rocketdyne scramjet engine powered the successful flight test of the Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept (HAWC), in a joint effort with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and Lockheed Martin.

The goal of the DARPA / Lockheed Martin HAWC program is to develop and demonstrate critical technologies to enable an effective and affordable air-launched hypersonic cruise missile system.
