The space shuttle was the world’s first reusable spacecraft, but it will not be the last. All three of NASA’s CCiCap partners are designing their commercial crew transportation vehicles to be reused after ferrying NASA astronauts and other customers to and from low Earth orbit.

NASA Commercial Spaceflight — 60 Day Report
NASA awarded the Commercial Crew Integrated Capability (CCiCap) Space Act Agreements (SAAs) just over two months ago, and all three partners are already making substantial progress toward completing their designs and performing hardware testing. These partners have transitioned from CCDev2 to CCiCap without skipping a beat.

ESA’s throwing a party next month, and everybody — and I mean EVERYBODY — is invited.
Well, maybe not a party per se. (Although there probably will be a few during the evening.) But, the next ESA Ministerial Council meeting in Caserta, Italy on November 20-21 will be the biggest one yet, featuring anyone in Europe with any interest in space whether they’ve joined the agency or not. And it will be crucial meet for Europe’s future in space.
Virgin Galactic has released some new photos of work being done on SpaceShipTwo at the Mojave Air and Space Port. The space plane is set to begin making powered flight tests toward the end of this year.

The U.S. Air Force’s reusable booster program has been canceled due to a lack of funding:
Due to “unexpected funding reductions,” the U.S. Air Force is discontinuing work on a prototype reusable rocket design effort that the U.S. National Research Council recently cited as a key steppingstone to an operational system.
