SpaceX is targeting Friday, October 14 for launch of the Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13F mission to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The 116-minute launch window opens at 11:26 p.m. ET (03:26 UTC on October 15). A backup launch opportunity is available on Saturday, October 15 with the same window.

The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched CRS-24 and one Starlink mission. After stage separation, the first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.

You can watch the live launch webcast starting about 15 minutes before liftoff.

4 in the first half of the month seems a bit more than a launch a week. 🙂

True, they are flying as frequently as Pan Am’s famous China Clipper, which made one flight a week each way.

maybe that will help St. Elon pick up some hard cash after holding the US government up pfailed

You know, the Ukrainians could really use a couple of those B737 that Boeing had in storage. Maybe Boeing will follow Elon’s lead and let the Ukrainians use them for free. Boeing’s a rich company and it needs some good PR.

no US company including St. Elon’s is doing anything for free in Ukraine. they are all getting paid including Elon’s by the US federal government. Oddly enough the other day I saw video of B737’s carrying Harms and Harpoons and saying Ukrainian air defense on them

              curious RGO

You are stuck in the old space mindset where you don’t turn a screwdriver before getting a government check. SpaceX is donating $20 million a month of Starlink service to the Ukraine. Nothing wrong with asking if some government will help pay for it.

SpaceX is donating $20 million a month of Starlink service to the Ukraine.

that is not true. Musk is aspirational with cost numbers and this shows it. Musk is not donating anything. Musk is being paid by the US government for 99 percent of the starlink terminals that are in use in Ukraine as well as the airtime at the same rate per month (and bandwidth) that my pipeline patrol companny is paying and getting. Musk wanted extra money outside the commercial products with the DoD and other agencies, for things that NO OTHER commercial contract is pay ing for including Satellite deployment. so he “overstated” that he is losing money. the entire system is losing money, but it is losing money on the contract it made for me and everyone else, because the system is underscribed and bleeding cash

the government is paying heavily for the starlink service, about 80 million a month. and Musk is making a profit off of that. what he wanted was essentially a cost plus contract

it has nothing to do with turning a screwdriver before getting paid.

Any evidence that what you say is true? Any articles to link to showing it as most news articles report the opposite.

CNN, MSNBC, CBS all have clarified the Musk push. this is why musk retracted it. the DoD spanked him

I have read them and they do not support your claims as the “leaked document” they base the story on indicated only about 30% of the costs are paid for by various governments. It also says the Russians are destroying about 500 army units a month that need replacing. Seems his request for some government to close that 70% cost gap is reasonable, especially as Elon by showing its value in wartime is putting the Constellation at risk.

I am not sure how the “constellation” is at risk. the presentations on CNBC etc all support what I am saying. one either provides a commercial service or you dont and commercial services do not have 100 percent of their cost covered.

A guess is that Musk is either running out of cash by having it bleed through the door OR he wants the US government to become a stakeholder in Starlink.

500 units a monthno way to comment on that number although it seems high.

anyway musk has gotten his temper tantrum back in hold and so we move forward. another day in the excitement of a man child

Both Russian and China have threatened it since Elon let the Ukraine military use it.

No, but the DOD was the listed as the source of the CNN news leak and quotes which is likely why the issued the statement.

SpaceX is slacking with their launch rate. /s

The Falcon Heavy is hogging pad time at LC-39A now.

When the launch operations is optimized at the 3 SpaceX pads. We might get about 9 launches every 30 days or so excluding Falcon Heavy launcher. At least 3 at pad SLC-40, 3 at pad LC-39A and 2 at pad SLC-4E. So might be able to reach Musk’s loony target of 100 launches for 2023.
