We might have a horse race on our hands. Astrobotic’s CLPS competitor, Intuitive Machines’ Nova-C lander, is also scheduled for launch on a Falcon 9 this December.
We’ll see which one will actually be the first U.S. lunar lander to touch down on the moon since Apollo!
That puts the ball squarely in ULA’s court – and, by extension, Blue Origin’s as well. If Nova-C is ready to go in Dec., there’s no question that F9 will be too. But Peregrine is booked on Vulcan – a far more problematic ride.
Assuming they both launch, it becomes a matter then of which one lands in a good way and the other, not so good.
Really GOCE, the winged sat should have been called Peregrine, not this ugly box.
