Ukrainian Sich-2-30 Successfully Launched Aboard SpaceX Transporter-3 Mission

CAPE CANAVERAL SPACE FORCE STATION, Fla. (State Space Agency of Ukraine PR) — On January 13, 2022, at 17:26 Kiev time, the Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched with the Ukrainian Sich‑2‑30 remote sensing satellite on board. The successful launch took place from the SLC-40 launch complex at Cape Canaveral (USA).
The spacecraft separated from the booster unit 1 hour 23 minutes 06 seconds after launch.
By means of the National Center for Space Management and Testing, located near Dunaivtsi, after two communication sessions, during the third round, a stable connection with the spacecraft was established. All on-board satellite systems are operating normally, solar panels are open.
The Sich-2-30 satellite was designed, assembled and tested in the Dnieper at the Pivdenne Design Bureau. M.K. Yangel in cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises HARTRON-ARCOS LTD (Kharkiv), LLC SPE HARTRON-YUKOM (Zaporizhzhya), SE ZAO NDIRV (Kharkiv), CB Arsenal (Kyiv) ), DNDP “CONEX” (Lviv), LC ICD (Lviv) and SE VO “Kyivprilad” (Kyiv).
The launch of the Ukrainian satellite “Sich-2-30” is part of the space program, its first step. By 2025, Ukraine plans to deploy in orbit a group of Ukrainian satellites – another 6 spacecraft of high spatial resolution (1 meter) and one – ultra-high (0.5 meters). There will be a total of 8 satellites.
If the Sich-2-30 satellite is focused on civilian and digitalization tasks, control of natural and man-made emergencies, in the second stage Ukraine will expand the scope of spacecraft and security and defense, in particular – to help the Armed Forces. forces of Ukraine.
The draft Space Program until 2025 has already been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the profile committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
