Due to organized ride share programs on various large launchers (SpaceX will launch 220kg to SSO for $1m) the small launcher market is going to be limited to only Rocket Lab and perhaps 2 others. Firefly needs to fly. Soon.

For what it’s worth, I think there are currently only 3 contenders for the “first small(ish) launcher to launch after RocketLab”:
Firefly
Virgin Orbit
Astra
Currently it looks like Astra could be the first with a launch attempt, and Firefly and VO seem to be head-to-head regarding first(next) attempt.
Considering how “far” Virgin Orbit’s first attempt went and how much difficulty both Firefly and Astra had so far with their tests (and launches), I would say all three have quite similar chances to be the next company to reach orbit.
PS: I’m really looking forward to this documentary!
Hey, Doug. This is a weird paragraph:

It’s not clear whether this is a ParabolicArc story or a Max Polyakov press release. In any case, is this a feel good story for the US space program or for Ukraine’s?
