Chang’e-4 Exceeds 400 Days & 400 Meters on Far Side of the Moon

BEIING (China National Space Administration PR) — On the far side of the distant moon, after 14 days of moonlight, the sun shone again on the Chang’e 4 lander and the Yutu 2 lunar rover, and the Chang’e 4 lander and the Yutu 2 lunar rover returned to work.
Awakened independently on March 18, and entered the 16th day work period. The ground was confirmed to be in good condition and the working conditions were normal, and a new round of scientific detection was carried out as planned. “Yutu No. 2” lunar rover traveled to the new target point and started exploring again on the back of the moon.
During the day work period of this month, the lunar neutron and radiation dose detector and low-frequency radio frequency spectrum instrument carried by the Chang’e-4 lander will start up as planned and carry out the established scientific detection.
The “Yutu 2” lunar rover is equipped with scientific payloads such as infrared spectrometer, panoramic camera, neutral atom detector, and moon detection radar. It will start up successively, carry out patrol detection, and support the scientific research team to understand the back of the moon.
At present, the “Yutu 2” lunar rover has traveled a cumulative distance of 405.44 meters. At this point, the “Yutu 2” lunar rover has achieved a breakthrough of “double 400” in working days and distance.
Under the complex climatic conditions on the back of the moon, Chang’e 4 lander and “Yutu 2” lunar rover have spent 15 months day and night, providing humans with a lot of science about the geological structure of the back of the moon, meteorological conditions, and radiation environment data.
In the current situation, we will pay close attention to the epidemic prevention and control, relax the progress of the project, and strive to win the “double victory” of major project implementation and epidemic prevention. A total of one month was rewarded, and Tongwang Tianhe was cleared. In the face of the epidemic, the Chinese people and the people of the world were united in the same spirit and stormed together.
Above the moon, the wise “Chang’e” and the industrious “rabbit” will live up to the people’s trust, strive to explore more, go further, work longer, and provide humanity with fullness and rich scientific achievements Go for it!

Very impressive surviving 400 days of the lunar day/night cycle.
It’s done pretty well, solid engineering feat, especially given it has to be operated through a relay only.
