Doug, there are jump links in your articles with double underlines that are linking to a ransomware website.
I don’t see them in my browser (Firefox with Adblock Plus). Try a different browser, or install Adblock Plus?
They are in IE and firefox, both with fairly heinous corporate firewalls betwixt them and the internet.
the code for it is in the HTML, example
^span class=”IL_AD” id=”IL_AD6″^will make^/span^
replace ^ with <, >, <, & >
I suppose the HTML for it might be inserted at some point other than your own server.
https://www.google.com/chrome/
Here you go. Stepped away from IE and never looked back.
Those are the only two I’m allowed to use at work.
Of course. Government Agency? Noticed many of them still use it.
Looks like this:
Here it looks like this:
And then I turned off Adblock Plus and reloaded the page, and the double links showed up as in Hug Doug’s picture.
Consider donating to Parabolic Arc using the link at the top of the page, and then I’ll give you special dispensation to use Adblock Plus here 🙂
A generous offer but Windows 10 will not let me download Adblock Plus. I have to figure out how to turn off Windows Defender first. It did such a wonderful job of stopping this problem in the first place. 🙁
In that case, after you donate I give you permission to download Firefox and add Adblock Plus to it. I would guess that Windows 10 won’t be able to do anything about that.
Can I put in my 2 cents and point out that infolinks has been making your site nearly unreadable, particularly on mobile but it also tends to bog down nearly any browser (even chrome) on desktop. I’ve pretty much just been reading your twitter rather than going to parabolic arc these days.
Actually, I’m a different Doug. This blog is run by Doug Messier.
So you are saying “donate or you are a bad person for protecting yourself from malware”?
Uh… No?
How about this. Ad block plus has a feature where it won’t block APPROPRIATE ads. Get in on that band wagon and clean up mess and maybe this site will still be around in 5 years when the internet’s ad economy finally collapses.
I donate every now and then when I have a bit of change to spare and I have Adblock Plus disabled on PA. However, infolinks is blocked through NoScript. That stuff was unbearable.
I am seeing the same issue with the double underlines.
who says that there will be only 2 chairs?
Just saw that Sierra Nevada, Orbital ATK and SpaceX were the three that received awards. Very cool that Sierra Nevada made the cut. I guess we will see Dream Chaser fly!
Bingo. I have been hoping that they would do 3 to get around what the GOP did on ccxdev. NASA is thinking long term.
