Space tourism is obscene and the worst thing that has ever happened to space exploration.
Your aggressive, arrogant comment style is the worst thing that has happened to parabolic arc (and space discussion in general) since Gaetano Marano.

Gary, you might find you have an easier time if you actually try to explain why space tourism is ‘obscene’.
If you don’t understand why space clowns and Sarah Brightman using the 150 billion tax dollar space station to nowhere as a vacation destination is obscene, then it is no use trying to explain it to you.

The sole point you’ve made so far is use of taxpayer money for some millionaire’s recreation, which is reasonable, but cannot be applied to SS1: it’s a complete private venture product.

I kind of miss Gaetano. I’ve shared this anecdote before, but I’ll share it again. The print copy of Aviation Week used to (maybe they still do – I’m no longer a subscriber) include a couple online comments about articles near the the letters to the editor. Flipping through the pages, I see one of Gaetano’s comments made it from the website into the hardcopy!
His trolling transcends the Internet.
Obscene is the use of a weapon of mass destruction that killed at the end more as 100,000 people as his own blogger sign.

If others want to ad hominem instead of making an argument against the comment itself I feel obliged to respond. I did respond to Sam Moore concerning the subject matter- but Matt, Aerospike, Chief Galen Tyrol, and Hug Doug all went after me personally and not the substance of my original comment. I gave them back a personal response.
But I greatly appreciate you allowing me to express my views, unlike every other forum I have posted on except for Paul Spudis’, and I will refrain from responding to these kinds of taunts from now on.
