SPARKS, Nev. (SNC PR) — Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) and Craig Technologies will host a joint press conference on Thursday to announce the expansion of SNC’s Dream Chaser® ‘Dream Team’ to include Craig Technologies, a Woman-Owned, Minority-Owned, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVO), on the development of SNC’s Dream Chaser Space System. Craig Technologies will support SNC in multiple areas of design and development that will be discussed. Media will have the opportunity to speak with SNC and Craig Technologies program executives and tour Craig Technologies manufacturing area.

SNC’s Dream Chaser spacecraft is a multi-mission space utility vehicle offering safe, reliable and cost-effective crewed and uncrewed transportation services to low-Earth orbit (LEO). Craig Technologies is a Woman-Owned, Minority-Owned, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that will support the SNC Dream Chaser program with design engineering and manufacturing. The Dream Chaser spacecraft is currently in production to meet SNC’s plan for initial launch from Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in November 2016. SNC is working with proven large and small business partners to meet that goal.

SNC selected Craig Technologies for its business strength and quality processes. The company is AS9100c certified and ITAR registered. The small business has demonstrated success with its newest manufacturing division which is further strengthened under the non-reimbursable Space Act Agreement with KSC to maintain and utilize an inventory of 1,600 pieces of specialty manufacturing and test equipment once used to process 80 percent of shuttle components. Work under a variety of disciplines will be done at the 161,000 square foot ADMC in Cape Canaveral outside of KSC.
