A stealth company whose CCDev 2 proposal was rejected by NASA for failing to comply with proposal instructions is asking the space agency to conduct a full evaluation of its plan.  In a press release, alphaSpaces writes:

We have requested a full consideration of our proposal that it never received since we had submitted our proposal properly and in good faith. We have communicated with CCDev2 a number of reasons associated with our proposal submission (including the format) and our desire to work with CCDev2 to facilitate the processes.

Since CCDev2 has not yet initiated consideration of our CCDev2 proposal, we are taking the steps to bring it to your kind consideration for the sake of our nation’s honor and justice.

alphaSpaces describes itself as “a Silicon Valley company in stealth mode having leading blue chip company background heritage. It has presence in Cloud computing, Mobile computing and Aerospace.” The company’s website is still under construction.

The press release is reproduced in full below.

Dear Friends,

Since the time alphaSpaces learned that our proposal was not even looked at during CCDev2 evaluation, we have been in contact with CCDev2 personnel to initiate evaluation. This press release is being issued to expedite the process.

We came to know about events associated with evaluation hereunder:

“The proposal from alphaspaces did not pass the acceptance screening because it failed to comply with the proposal instructions in the Announcement and was, therefore, not reviewed by the voting members.”

With your help NASA (hence our nation) will garner the following benefits through full support of the alphaSpaces proposal.

  1. 1. Make the first steps towards President and NASA’s vision of a sustainable, effective space program.
  2. Take the initial steps for the Congress authorized SLS and MPCV programs in year 2011 itself.
  3.  Ensure that the Commercial Crew and Congress authorized SLS and MPCV programs are not in conflict but are complementary/synchronous/symbiotic/symphonic/synergetic/concomitant/integrative/interconnected/interdependent/interrelated/complimentary
  4.  Lay the foundations for the convergence and evolution of blue chip SLS/MPCV and Commercial Crew programs.
  5. Launch development of next generation space exploration architectures.
    a. Europe has started work on next generation systems: https://esamultimedia.esa.int/multimedia/publications/ngl/pageflip.html.
    b. Since alphaSpaces has already proposed a next generation architecture, through alphaSpaces, NASA and our nation will be at the forefront.
  6. Feedback the advances made in Commercial Crew program into the SLS and MPCV programs.
  7. Prioritize safety for humans throughout the complete integrated exploration systems.
    a. The core (fuel tank) is designed as a double-hull/multi-layer to ensure safety.
    b. DART rockets and CARE system for crew capsule propulsion is for ensuring safety of crew capsule
  8. Trail blaze a beginning to affordable reusable architectures in these tight fiscal times.
  9. Establish congruence with USAF/Defense and advance United States national goals with respect to spaceflight across the board.
  10. Kick off the development of “evolvable” heavy lift architecture in line with NASA’s vision
  11. Foray into development of adaptable dual hull/multi-layer core that can support different types of engines. This will provide true redundancy and mission assurance down the line.
  12. Procure an architecture that can support multiple strap-on boosters such as SRB, Atlas V, Delta IV, Falcon 9, Taurus II etc. and help evolve those systems. This will provide complete integrated system redundancy and mission assurance down the line.
  13. Take international co-operation in Space Exploration to a new level:
    a. Current Ariane and/or ESA next generation launchers and others can be used as strap-on boosters for our SLS as per alphaSpaces architecture.
    b. alphaSpaces derived propulsion systems (part of CCDev proposal-DART and CARE) can be used not only for a variety of commercial crew systems such as Orion, VECTOR, CST-100, Dragon etc., but also for planned crew systems in international partners.
  14. Implement Congressional SLS/MPCV/CCDev authorizations and appropriations not only in letter but also in spirit.
    a. The major elements of SLS/MPCV/CCDev authorizations are included in the alphaSpaces CCDev proposal.
    b. alphaSpaces proposal seeks to keep our nation in the forefront in space exploration in spirit through our next generation STARS architecture.
  15. Harbinger a space exploration ecosystem (using alphaSpaces nexgen architecture as a basis) wherein:
    a. Existing companies and their employees have crucial and continued roles.
    b. New companies have roles in cost containment and other crucial ones.
    c. Establish an evolving ecosystem whereby space exploration is brought to the masses.

The problems with prior programs such as SLI, X 33/Venture Star, Constellation etc. has not been the Presidents policies, Congressional guidance, or NASA’s leadership. In all these cases it has been that the companies executing these programs did not have the necessary blue chip experience.

With your help, it is hoped that CCDev2 begins evaluation and due diligence of our proposal by the time of the final space shuttle fight ends. This is the least we can do for our heroes and stars who made our illustrious space program a reality.

About alphaSpaces in Brief:

alphaSpaces is a Silicon Valley company in stealth mode having leading blue chip company background heritage. It has presence in Cloud computing, Mobile computing and Aerospace. We look forward to contributing to establishing a blue chip national space program and ecosystem.

alphaSpaces position on some germane news items is given below.

  • Final NASA shuttle mission clouded by rancor: “NASA’s critics say the human spaceflight program is in a shambles. They see arm-waving and paperwork rather than a carefully defined mission going forward.”

While alphaSpaces will not go into the details behind our request for full consideration of our proposal to CCDev2, we do wish to emphasize that we have a clearly defined architecture namely “STARS” platform-architecture and a progression of missions for going forward as indicated way back in our Open Letter to President and Congress starting from missions in LEO (Low Earth Orbit), using missions to Lagrange orbits. GEO (Geo-Synchronous Earth Orbit) as intermediate trajectories for missions beyond EO (Earth Orbit).

  • Americans want to be leaders in space exploration. But what does that mean?
  • Majority See US leadership in Space as Essential:

We have been crystal clear of what US leadership in Space means going forward. alphaSpaces has proposed that it means establishing a blue chip space program and evolving an exploration ecosystem.
