SpaceX Bid to Launch Azerbaijani Satellite Faces Issues Over Insurance Costs

A government source says that within the relevant tender U.S. company SpaceX has suggested Falcon missile carrier for launch of the first satellite of Azerbaijan.
“This carrier rocket has not carried out any commercial launch of satellites, and in case of its victory in the tender the cost of a contract with insurance company can be incredible,†the source said….
It should be noted that within the tender for satellite-carrier rocket manufacturer the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies is considering the bids Russia’s ILS, France’s Arianespace, U.S.’s SpaceX and Ukraine-Russia’s Ukroboronservis…
Contracts with insurance companies will be signed before the end of this year on completion of the tender. The tender was announced this January and following its results the total project cost was expected to change within 15-20%.
