California Space Authority Deepening Ties With France’s Toulouse Region
CSA PRESS RELEASE
The California Space Authority (CSA), representing the diverse space enterprise community of our state, will attend this year’s Toulouse Space Show in France during the week of June 8 through 11. In cooperation with member company ANewWorld Consulting, CSA will lead a delegation of California space companies to the international show, during which six contemporaneous space-related conferences and symposia will be featured.
“The California Space Authority (CSA) and its members will enjoy unprecedented attention at the Toulouse Space Show,†stated Andrea Seastrand, Executive Director of CSA. “It is our fervent hope that this mission will enhance international partnerships and collaborations for our California members and other stakeholders, resulting in mutually beneficial business development and innovative research opportunities.
Such activities bring fruition to intended outcomes of the Agreement on Space Enterprise Networking between the French Aerospace Valley and CSA. I can’t think of a more exciting way to mark the one year anniversary of the signing of that Agreement.â€
In June 2009, CSA and the French Aerospace Valley Association (FAV) signed the Agreement on Space Enterprise Networking during the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France, which seeks to build lasting links between aerospace businesses and educational institutions in California and in the southwestern portion of France.
The six conferences that make up the Toulouse Space Show encompass everything from space-based applications to orbital systems to economic analysis of the space domain. In addition, there will be an international exhibition and trade show where CSA will have a booth and access to a private room for business meeting use by its members. Specifically, the conferences are:
- SPACE APPLI – Third International Conference on Space Applications
- NEREUS – Workshop for the Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies
- TECHNO DIS – Second Conference on Disruptive Technologies in Space Activities
- SPACE ECO — Symposium on the Space Economy
- S@TCOM – Symposium on New Growth Opportunities for Satellite Telecommunications
- UpM – Conference on Space for the Mediterranean Region
