Bill Would Up Private Sector Involvement in Space Florida Board of Directors

State Rep. Steve Crisafulli wants to terminate the entire Space Florida board of directors, then reorganize the group with “new blood” from the private sector.

The Merritt Island Republican introduced House Bill 451, which would remove today’s directors and rework the leadership structure of the Sunshine State’s aerospace economic development agency.

“The reason for the bill is to put more industry folks and less government appointees onto the board,” Crisafulli said.

“To have an effective agency and an effective board, you have to have industry folks involved in the day-to-day operations.”
