Apollo 9 astronaut Rusty Rusty Schweickart will help lead a two-day conference later this month on the subject of near Earth objects sponsored by the University of Nebraska College of Law. The college is hosting the conference in conjunction with the Association of Space Explorers with Co-Sponsorship of the Secure World Foundation and Supported by the American Branch of the International Law Association.
The conference events will take place at the University of Nebraska Law College, the Wicks Alumni Center, University of Nebraska, and at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in Lincoln, Nebraska, on April 23-24, 2009.
Participants include The Planetary Society’s Lou Friedman, Dr. Gordon McBean of the Canadian Foundation for Climate and Atmospheric Sciences; George Washington University professor Ray Williamson, and other leading experts in the field.
