Virgin considers SpaceShipTwo/White Knight II pilot tuition
Virgin Galactic is considering offering cheaper simulator and in-flight training packages to customers who are not able to plop down $200,000 for a suborbital spaceflight, according to a report in Flight Global.
The packages, marketed to pilots, would include parabolic loops and other training in the White Knight 2 carrier aircraft, company officials said. “We could do a cut-price package, everything but the flight, we probably haven’t thought of all the possible applications,” says Virgin Galactic commercial director Stephen Attenborough.
