Finalists Announced for Euroconsult’s 2021 Finspace Awards

Industry leading global strategy consultancy and market intelligence firm Euroconsult have announced the six companies that have been shortlisted for their 5th annual Finspace competition. Part of this year’s World Satellite Business Week, the Finspace initiative recognizes and celebrates the achievements of innovative startups from across the space sector.

PARIS, WASHINGTON D.C., MONTREAL, YOKOHAMA, SYDNEY, 6th October 2021 –Euroconsult’s Finspace pitch initiative was launched in 2017 as part of the company’s flagship World Satellite Business Week event and strives to showcase the most promising and innovative start-ups from across the space and satellite industry value chains. Six finalists have been selected for the 2021 awards from entries that were submitted from all across Europe, the United States, and Australia. Former Orbital Insight Vice President joins geospatial intelligence leader to expand company’s presence across US Government entities

GAITHERSBURG, Md., October 5, 2021 — Edgybees, the leading visual intelligence technology company, announced today the appointment of Craig Brower as President of US Government operations. Brower will lead Edgybees’ sales, engineering, operations, marketing, and strategic business development initiatives across the United States. Brower joins Edgybees shortly following strategic advisory board appointments from the company as it looks to secure and strengthen its position within the US government sector.  

Brower is the former Vice President and General Manager, Public Sector at Orbital Insight, a leading company in the geospatial data analytics sector. Prior to his role at Orbital Insight, Brower served as Vice President of Vricon, a geospatial-intelligence data and software provider and Senior Director of Business Development at the leading aerospace company, BAE Systems. Brower has over 30 years’ experience in the intelligence and defense industry, having first joined the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in 1989 working as a photographic specialist for the Directorate of Science and Technology’s National Photographic Interpretation Center. Brower holds a Photographic Science degree from Randolph Technical College and a Behavioral Science degree from National Louis University.

Amazon Web Services Selects 10 Companies for First Space Accelerator Program

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Space Accelerator has selected 10 companies for its four-week program that teaches business how they can grow using analytics technology and cloud computing.

“Today, I’m thrilled to announce the 10 startups we selected to take part in the first cohort of the accelerator: Cognitive Space, D-Orbit, Descartes Labs, Edgybees, Hawkeye 360, LeoLabs, Lunar Outpost, Orbital Sidekick, Satellite VU, and Ursa Space,” said Amazon CTO Werner Hans Peter Vogels in a blog post.
