Chamber of Commerce Disbanding Space Enterprise Council
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is disbanding the Space Enterprise Council (SEC), an affiliate established in 2000 that lobbies U.S. policymakers on behalf of the domestic space industry, effective May 1, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Last week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce conducted a three-day workshop on concepts for NASA’s planned lunar surface operations. Some of the presentations made by various groups is now online. There is interesting stuff here.
The Boston Globe has an interesting interview with Rosanna Sattler, the new chairwoman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Space Enteprise Council. Sattler, who heads the space law practice at the Boston firm Posternak Blankstein & Lund, discusses the complexities of the legal regime for space, including space diving and Virgin Galactic’s suborbital tourism plans.
