The virtual International Space Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for Sept. 15-17, will focus on the Indian government’s efforts to commercial its space program.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organizing the conference in association with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Antrix Corporation Limited (ANTRIX) with support from NewSpace India Limited.
“Ushering the new era for Indian space sector” is the theme of the conference and exhibition. It will include the participation of Indian space officials and entrepreneurs as well as representatives from foreign space programs.

SRIHARIKOTA, India (ISRO PR) — India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, in its forty second flight (PSLV-C40), successfully launched the 710 kg Cartosat-2 Series Satellite for earth observation and 30 co-passenger satellites together weighing about 613 kg at lift-off. PSLV-C40 was launched from the First Launch Pad (FLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota.
India’s Central Bureau of Investigation said this week it is moving ahead with plans to prosecute former ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair and seven others over a satellite transponder leasing deal signed in 2005 between Devas Multimedia and ISRO’s commercial arm, Antrix Corporation.
Under the now-voided agreement, Devas Multimedia would have paid $300 million to lease S band transponders on a pair of satellite paid for, built and launched by ISRO using public money.

After landing at the HAL Airport, Sarkozy along with his wife Carla Bruni, ministers and business delegates, headed to the ISRO Satellite Centre where he was briefed on the Megha- Tropiques satellite, which is being co-developed by India and France.
