China Launches 3 Yaogan-31 Military Reconnaissance Satellites

JIUQUAN SATELLITE LAUNCH CENTER, China (CASC PR) — On February 24 at 10:22 a.m., the Long March 4C carrier rocket was ignited and launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and successfully sent three Yaogan-31 satellites into the scheduled orbit. The mission was a complete success.

Yaogan-31 satellites were developed by Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd. of the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Limited, and are mainly used to carry out electromagnetic environment detection and related technical tests.

The Long March 4C launch vehicle is a normal temperature liquid three-stage launch vehicle developed by the Eighth Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group. It is capable of launching multiple types of satellites with different orbital requirements.

This mission cycle covers the Spring Festival, and it is at a critical stage of epidemic prevention and control. To ensure the successful completion of the launch mission according to the node, all the test team members stayed at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center to spend the Spring Festival.

This mission is the 361st launch of the Long March series of carrier rockets.
