Japanese Moon Guy Launches Bachelor in Space Competition

If you’re a fan of The Bachelor or the Bachelorette, you’re going to love this.

Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, who has signed up to make a trip around the moon in Elon Musk’s Starship, is looking for girlfriend to travel with him. Requirements to accompany the 44-year old entrepreneur around the moon include:

  • Single women aged 20 or over
  • Bright personality and always positive
  • Interested in going into space and able to participate in the preparation for it
  • Want to enjoy life to the fullest
  • Be someone who wishes for world peace

The website hosting the information is AbemaTV, which is an online streaming TV network offering news, entertainment, sports, anime and, apparently, a bachelor in space competition whose prize is a trip around the moon.

The schedule is:

  • Jan. 17: Applications end at 10am (JST)
  • Jan. 25-26: Selection begins
  • Mid-February: Matchmaking dates with Yusaku Maezawa
  • Mid March: Special dates getting to know Yusaku Maezawa
  • End of March: Final decision on partner

No word on whether there will be a rose ceremony.
