Vostochny Cosmodrome Construction Begins Second Phase, Maintenance Work Conducted

TSIOLKOVSKY, Russia (Roscomos PR) — The second phase of construction is at full speed at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The Kazan industrial and construction association are carrying out the foundation armament of structures placed at the Angara carrier rockets family launching complex.

Structure 4 (centralized structure) is meant for placing the various technological systems equipment being developed by the Barmin Research Institute of Launch Complexes (a branch of TsENKI). The first stage of the second construction phase of the cosmodrome will include building a launch complex.

The annual technological equipment maintenance procedures began at the Vostochny Cosmodrome aimed at supporting the workability of all the systems.

The Vostochny Space Center specialists (a subsidiary of TsENKI) took part in safety and technical discipline briefings, as well as on the ways and volumes of the annual maintenance.

All the structural units got the supplies necessary for the operations, as well as the operational documentation and tools. As part of the annual maintenance, the specialists getting all the equipment ready for the next launch – checking the equipment status, as well as the technical competence of the Vostochy Space Center crews.

The annual maintenance is the most critical stage of the rocket and space equipment. These works are traditional for all the cosmodromes.
