Northrop Grumman Engineers Load Final Cargo for Cygnus Launch

Mission engineers load the final cargo into the Cygnus resupply spacecraft onboard the Northrop Grumman Antares rocket, Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at launch Pad-0A of NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. Northrop Grumman’s 11th contracted cargo resupply mission with NASA to the International Space Station will deliver about 7,600 pounds of science and research, crew supplies and vehicle hardware to the orbital laboratory and its crew. I had a good LOL today watching the Antares launch. Some incompetent at NASA had a map of the orbits of ISS. The software was completely off for a map of the Earth. It had Greenland over 2x bigger than USA. The Mercator projection. I checked my 8″ globe. 1=63,000,000. That is 1″= 994.31818 mi. Greenland is about 1,500 mi. long. Check. About half of USA. Check. The top is 500mi. from North Pole. I will try to find a polar projection of the north hemisphere. If not I will take a .JPG of my rusty 50 year old globe and show you. I have wrote about this before. NASA should know better. What ever happened to NASA watch? Not paying attention? Or have they already caught it? I am afraid to go there as he might say drink the Kool Aid again. Sorry and now I have said it and the images are back, until I forget.

Doug says and much more, so here is some more. I have a new young rabbit friend.Same place and joined me and had breakfast. Even stood on hind legs to reach for a mouthful. I talked to it and it wiggled an ear. Nice to have a new friend. A replacement Rabbit. Swamp, so I call it Swampy. No white tail, but a white belly. Swampy went back close to a pond where they normally are. I told it to watch out as I had seen a wild canine there. Nice young rabbit. I hope it stays around for 15 years as Rabbit did. I feel better.

Here is what NASA should use. An actual image of the western hemisphere. When the track gets to the edge they can switch to the Eastern. Have both side by side. Notice where Greenland is and size. Long voyages by Vikings? Nope. 600 mi. Norway to Iceland, 250 mi. Iceland to Greenland. They used row boats with a sail. Hawaii to nearest land=1000 mi. No long voyage there either. NASA ought to do what was done on Almaz a long time ago. Put a motorized globe on their spacecraft to show where it is over Earth.
