New Shepard Flight Set for Next Week

Credit: FAA

This notice to airmen (NOTAM) indicates that Blue Origin is going to fly New Shepard from its facility in west Texas. The restrictions are set for Monday through Wednesday from 10 am EST (9 am CDT) to 7 pm EDT (6 pm CDT) each day. Your local time may vary.

It will be the 11th flight of the New Shepard suborbital vehicle as Blue Origin moves toward flying passengers during the second half of 2019.

This is for SpaceX’s hopper flights at Boca Chica, not New Shepard. Plug the coordinates into google maps, it’s at the other end of the state.

  • Jacob Samorodin

Besides micro-gravity experiments, are there any BO employees mentioned as participants (passengers) in this next test flight? Unfortunately at my place of work, Amazon, Jeff Bezos has not been recruiting for spaceflight volunteers. Awwww.

  • ThomasLMatula

Yes, this has nothing to do with Blue Origin. It is an indicator the Starhopper is ready for first flight😊

  • Robert G. Oler

wrong place for BO brings back old memories though…we chased a DC3 up from Honduras to the airport just north of the SpaceX facility…just about ran my T39 out of gas…but got some great mexican brown and underage women.

  • Ignacio Rockwill

Yeah, nothing on the VHN NOTAM scene…this 100 percent SpaceX. Blue Origin doesn’t fly frequently, wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t fly NS until May (even though they have allegedly ready to fly vehicles)

  • 1,000 AGL was a giveaway. Hopefully, BO has graduated from hop-tests.

  • duheagle

Aren’t pretty much all Mexican women, regardless of age, brown? 🙂

  • duheagle

I don’t think things have gotten so bad between Musk and Bezos that the former would deliberately strap the latter’s employees onto his test article before flying it. If you volunteered, on the other hand, maybe Elon would consider your offer.

  • duheagle

Doug, you should fix the headline on this – assuming your blogging software allows for that once a story is posted.

  • redneck

There are quite a few red heads from southern Mexico, Irish influence. Worked with a few from the Cinquenta Robels area. Funny watching people try to figure out why a light skinned red headed guy couldn’t speak English.

  • duheagle

Descendants of the Irish and Irish-Americans who went to Mexico to fight against Maximilian and Carlotta for Benito Juarez I suspect.

When I worked in Milan in the late 70’s I encountered a number of green-eyed redheaded women who also had the normative Italian olive complexions. Spectacular! But I have no idea what the genetic/migratory background of the forbears of these enchanting creatures is.

  • Ignacio Rockwill

I think there’s probably value a New Glenn hopper, but I doubt they’ll do it.

  • Robert G. Oler

    mexican brown is a drug

  • duheagle

Guess I should have used more smiley faces.

Fun fact: In most places in Mexico, the age of consent is 15 or less. In many of the Mexican states it’s as low as 12. That includes Tamaulipas, the Mexican state that borders the Brownsville, TX area.

  • Robert G. Oler

that is not relevant once they cross the US border. in the custody of someone who is not family…

  • duheagle

    Such as yourself, fr’instance?

  • Robert G. Oler

    eh
