    In fairness, this was breaking news and it broke in the middle of the night, Mojave, CA time. Doug doesn’t have, as Glenn Reynolds likes to put it, “legions of editors and fact-checkers.” One wonders what excuses the bigger outfits have.

    Actually, I believe Australia launched it’s first satellite, albeit using an American Redstone for 1st stage, back in 1967 from Woomera.
