Masten Tests New Fuel

NOFBX of some sort? I assume the 350 refers to the vac Isp.

  • JamesG

Does not specifically say its a monoprop. Just that its not as nasty as NTO/MMH.

  • Aerospike

if you check their follow up tweets, they specifically refer to a bipropellant

and state it’s theoretical (vacuum) ISP as 322 (vs. 336 for NTO).

so no idea how they came up with the “351” name.

It’s probably just a formula number from the chemical company that made it. Like Inconel 718 or Inconel 625.

Interesting. Is this an ADN based formulation like LMP-103S or HAN like AF-M315E ?

Nice to see some work on easily storable fuels.

    Masten eXperimental Propellant-351?

Just a guess. The 351 could be a lot of stuff

  • Aerospike

That would have been my guess as well 😉
